If it is only being used to present content to students, then why not just record videos and have students watch them on their own? To discuss a real life scenario or case study. This can be done in a jigsaw strategy whereby different groups are given different case studies. Google Form. Poll Everywhere.

She’s helped the students find books in the library, and she has also helped them learn some ways to navigate ways to share their knowledge through Google Slides or Wixie. They are using time to research and create a presentation of what they know. It’s really happening organically.

Together, we mapped out what this learning experience would look like, when it would be offered, how it would be assessed, and methods to collect data. They would be assessed using a project-based rubric, and each student would receive one honors credit for the project. An example of one standout student project can be found here.

In going through my grad students’ final workshop presentations this semester, I found one just too useful not to share. Second, pedagogically, it prevents teachers from being able to properly assess what students know and the depth of that understanding. Oral presentations became screen-casted videos of student-created builds. Students recorded these reflections on a Google Doc as a reference for the next time we played. And these discoveries were added to the student's Google Doc log so that descriptive or instructional language was captured and refined as necessary.
