For the better part of my educational career, I always referred to any type of learning to assist me as a teacher or administrator as professional development (PD). For the most part, this consisted of attending mandatory district “PD” days, professional learning communities (PLC)’s or approved off-site experiences such as conferences, workshops, or webinars. With a PLN, I was able to learn anytime, anywhere, from anyone I wanted for free.

First, we needed to strengthen and monitor our professional learning communities in an effort to evaluate, interpret and utilize data for personalized learning and differentiated instruction to increase learning and growth. Secondly, we had to identify and implement professional development strategies that focus on the utilization of digital resources as an integral component of content delivery.
