To improve the learning experience for kids, we must continue to develop ways where technology becomes a ubiquitous component of our work, but also leads to a demonstrated improvement in practice. One such method that is rapidly gaining traction is blended learning. However, this is not blended learning.

For the last 10 years, I’ve been using blended learning models and technology to shift control in the classroom from me to my students. If teachers and students work together to assess, track, and reflect on the learning happening in the classroom, teachers will have the time and energy to innovate and personalize learning.

The overreaching goal for each session was to support instructional strategies aligned to rigor & relevance and the 6 C's with a focus on the purposeful use of technology. What resulted was a great resource that I plan to share below on specific edtech tools that can assist special education (SPED), math, and reading teachers.

My experience in this area began over three years ago, thanks to having the opportunity to coach teachers and administrators at Wells Elementary School. Challenge accepted!
