In Mrs. Chellani’s continual efforts to create an engaging learning experience for her students, she has found utilizing QR codes to facilitate collaboration to be highly beneficial. The level of engagement increased dramatically with the use of QR codes and simply allowing students to utilize their cell phones in the learning process!

They desperately sought time during the school day to engage in professional growth opportunities, learn how to integrate Web 2.0 tools, and develop their own Personal Learning Networks (PLN’s). The only catch was that each staff member had to create and present a learning portfolio at his/ her end of year evaluation conference.

Much of the time in the actual PD is eaten up by tasks that can be learned outside the actual PD, freeing up the time when we do get together on more the why-to with technology PD or any type of professional development really. What if we adopted the model of the flipped classroom and applied it to meetings and Professional Development?
