Make Learning Transparent with Badges

Badging recognizes students for specific achievements within a unit or course of study. I use the free version of KidBlog and Google Sites , but other options include Wordpress and Blogger. For the students, I retain full editing rights to their Google Sites for the specific purpose of adding comments and embedding badges.

Our topics change every two to four weeks, and might be tied to a science or social studies unit, relate to students’ place in the world, or be self-selected. Once I’ve compiled the resources, I create a Google Drive folder with the unit name. Students share all of their work with me using the Seesaw eportfolio app.
