Over the years, I have noticed that student engagement tends to decrease in my classes around this time and I reach out to my personal learning network (PLN) for ideas or tools to boost engagement. Students should also be part of the process of deciding on different tools to try.

Being a connected educator is more than just taking ideas from a Twitter chat or even this blog post. It’s about always being in pursuit of that selfish goal of improving our learning so we can improve learning for kids. Our personal learning networks are all different. But that is where the beauty lies.

After nearly a year of using Twitter from an educational perspective I had begun to find and read blogs on a daily basis around February 2010. The most important factor that influenced me to begin a blog was my PLN. Why do I blog?
