Our students are spread across 31 elementary schools, two pre-K schools, and seven secondary schools. With 30 elementary buildings and six secondary buildings that I oversee, linking teachers across the district can be a struggle. It’s no exaggeration to say that computational thinking plays a part in all of them.

In the age of technology, planning for secondary students has become a bit easier as many schools already use platforms like Google Classroom, Schoology, or Microsoft Teams. Additionally, childcare is not as a big of a concern for older children, but what about elementary school students? Have all students log in during class.

Additional improvements allow educators to easily assign these learning activities and monitor student progress, as well as integrate Slooh with popular learning management systems including Schoology, Brightspace, and Google Education. Established in 2004, all 11 schools across the state are accredited by the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Little Scholars of Arkansas (LISA) Academy is a tuition-free public charter school with a comprehensive STEM-focused college preparatory program.

Through this multi-year collaboration, educators and students in the district’s elementary and middle schools will return to the classroom this fall with access to award-winning digital resources supporting science instruction. Paul and serves students across 16 elementary schools, 4 middle schools and three traditional high schools.

And as of this posting, our state governor has mandated NTI to begin for all secondary Kentucky schools next week and will last until at least the end of the year (and elementary schools until at least December 7). As educators, we are all leaning on each other to thrive and progress forward in such challenging times.
