One of the most cost-effective means to create a more personalized and individualized learning experience for students is through the use of OpenCourseWare (OCW) and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC's). This is taken into account when they are assessed for their work. The work was assessed according to the IOCS Rubric.

We could participate in a number of free Massively Open Online Courses (MOOCs), including over a dozen on Chinese History from Harvard University. So my students would do Social Studies, not just read about it. One inspiration would be the entirely-student-run Online Model United Nations.
