LMS and Digital Learning topped the hype cycle in 2001 (a few years before Blackboard went public). MOOCs topped the cycle in 2012. OPMs topped the cycle in 2015. million in 2019 to 18.6 million students in 2021, a 5.1 percent drop that’s the largest decline higher education has seen in five decades.
