Right now, faculty are regretting the course design choices we made for Fall, and trying to make better ones for Spring. I'm in that process myself, building my Winter semester course on linear algebra and differential equations. Course is basically over at Thanksgiving. Last 2 weeks are just catchup and reassessment.

After students decided as a group, they voted individually as a class about their opinion on the source with “ Poll Everywhere ,” using their cell phones. Vicari’s business classes utilized YouTube, a variety of video sites, and websites to preview Superbowl commercials as an introduction to the semester Marketing/Advertising course.

One student in particular added a conversation between Thomas Jefferson and “The Situation” from the Jersey Shore (of course all required content information was included as well). As a culminating activity, Mr. Manzo asked the students to take out their mobile devices and submit their questionnaire answers using Poll Everywhere.

With the first month of the school year in the books, I am extremely pleased with how more staff members are embracing educational technology and effectively integrating a variety of tools into instruction. At New Milford High School we clearly articulate that technology is a powerful tool.
