On February 25th Casey Green and I met online for the third Future Trends Forum. Casey noted some long-term persistent trends, such as campus IT seeing technology as an underutilized aid for instruction, and not feeling satisfied about institutional promotion of technology for faculty. One of the great things with Vivi is that it works with laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, Android tablets. Do you ever imagine how your practice might have been different had you had this tool? As a teacher, I easily could have wandered around the classroom with my iPad, done my instruction, provided examples, and quickly shared information.

K-12 Cyber Incident Map: 8 School Districts Have Experienced Multiple Cyber Incidents Since 2016 , which reports on a trend that I’ve seen in tracking K-12 cyber incident reports: school districts suffering repeat cyber incidents, even in the short time I’ve been tracking the issue (since the start of 2016).

The latter in particular is a trend that is allowing us to use web-enabled television, dual view screens, and in the near future will enable a merging between e-mail and social media. I also discussed pedagogical issues such as deep and surface learning, creative thinking and the transformation of knowledge consumption.
