The Background Photo Used Under a Creative Commons License In the Spring of 2013, my school district committed to issuing an iPad to every classroom teacher. Most of the iPads would be in the hands of teachers by the end of the semester. We were about to distribute iPads to 800 teachers. Time was of the essence.

Each year, I am seeing more and more students entering elementary school with technology knowledge greater than ever before. Our elementary students now, have never had a time in their lives where technology wasn''t present. One device our students are using more each day are iPads. First and foremost!

We are starting our second year of having iPads in our elementary classrooms, our Title I CCJH classrooms, and some of our AJHS classrooms. Tip 2: Marry the devices with the cart, and return them to their homes Each of our carts has its own MacBook Air computers dedicated to your iPads. When will the students get their iPads?

One area where I have focused over the past few months is integrating technology and math in the primary classroom with my colleague, Meagan Cinfel ( @mcinfel ), a first grade #iPadAcademy teacher at Central Elementary in Bellevue Public Schools. She controls the content from her iPad, and students learn and discuss the concept together.
