User Generated Education

As I always do, I am exploring its use in my classes (elementary-level gifted education). To use GLTR, a piece of text simply copy and pasted into the input box and anaylze is hit to generate a report. Now, similar work is often seen as innovative by colleagues. Later, I describe and show the work of my students.

Since its launch in 2001, Wikipedia’s crowd-sourced authorship–its wikiness–has provoked debate relating to authority, despite the fact that many Wikipedia authors are topic experts and that a growing number of librarians and academics contribute by adding and editing references. "We must be willing to experiment with technology and report our findings." The discussion of their very valuable (and well-attended) session "Empowering Students Through Self-Assessment" continues on a wiki. One of the most amazing things about attending this conference was seeing and being inspired by other school librarians.

Embrace Creative Commons, Flickr, Slideshare, Wikis, & Twitter and share your AWEsome stuff! Why Not a Wiki? Another thing you can make for both students and parents is a Tech Tips & Help wiki or web page for home use. Answering dilemmas such as: I can''t open my report! bradflickinger.

They have to write a report, and create a presentation. This required students to type a report in a word processing document, then use poster board to cut out, and paste, draw, sketch, etc. Embed the voki on class blogs, wikis, websites, and more. Forum WIKI What is wiki? ? What is good about a wiki?
