Khan is the creator of Khan Academy. He began his keynote by sharing a video montage of Khan Academy highlights and then presenting some impressive statistics on usage. The catalyst for Khan Academy began some years ago with a Yahoo doodle Sal developed to help a family member with her struggles in math.

Heck, our education system has become so good at maintaining the status quo and enforcing compliance throughout that we and many others have been brainwashed into thinking any other course of action would be foolish. Bottom line: As a flipped-classroom or student-creation tool, this tool offers lots of opportunities for use, but teachers will need to be creative if they want students to engage. Khan Academy. Bottom line: A solid resource for Common Core math instruction as well as foundational knowledge in a number of other subjects.
