It’s hard to remember now, but many industry colleagues felt edtech was a frothy market in 2017. In 2009, our team at Kaplan Ventures invested in a virtual reality corporate training startup that was ten years too early. MOOCs topped the cycle in 2012. A small but mighty movement was building – and it needed time to grow.
