Mitch served on the Board of the Ed-Tech Industry Network (ETIN) of the SIIA from 2012-2019, was cochair from 2015-2016, and was the chair in 2019. Presently, beginning in January 2019, Mitch became US COO of 3DBear, a Finnish EdTech company that uses Augmented Reality to motivate students to engage and learn deeply.

Palmer High School, in Colorado Springs District 11, was named the 2017 Colorado Teacher of the Year by Interim Education Commissioner Katy Anthes at an assembly on October 11, 2016. He has spent the last two months interviewing experts throughout the maker movement with the goal of creating a self-paced course for anyone who wants to design a makerspace. Global connectivity will continue to allow companies to outsource labor to other countries. They will need to have a maker mindset.

A past gubernatorial appointee to the State Council on Higher Education for Virginia, Dr. Moran was selected by her peers across the Commonwealth as Virginia’s 2016 Superintendent of the Year. She subsequently was one of four statewide superintendents of the year to be selected as a finalist for 2016 National Superintendent of the Year.
