Kahoot was launched in September of 2013, so it's hardly a "new/cutting edge tool." However, with the speed of newly appearing (and quickly disappearing) EdTech tools, Kahoot still seems to be one of the top used. From an edtech/SAMR standpoint, we also see an improvement. Quite a difference in levels of thinking!
