One of the biggest challenges we face, as educators, is learning how to put our health and happiness first. We created a Positive Learning Environment (PLE) committee consisting of one person from each grade level to focus on one mindset a month and decide how were going to roll that out to the whole school. It was really cool.

How to start the school year on a happy note

Our school motto is “Go be awesome,” so we end every faculty meeting with a group chant: “One, two, three—go be awesome!” We intentionally connect them to Curriculum Leadership, Grade-Level Leadership, and Positive Learning Environment (PLE) Leadership teams. Is it a little bit silly? Does it help us connect and teach better?
