MOOCs were going to change everything. My favorite ludicrous claim remains that of Knewton’s CEO who told NPR in 2015 that his company was a “mind reading robot tutor in the sky.” It can refer to a recording device, like the data-monitoring systems in planes, trains, and cars. And on and on and on.

I’ve listed some examples of disruption in education below, and ranked them (though obviously the ranking is entirely subjective and only useful as a crude reference point to start your own thinking).
