In early 2012, my district decided to bring a 1:1 mobile device initiative to the middle school students and I was fortunate enough to get a cart of iPads in my classroom. Think about it in a lower elementary classroom. Here is an example I use a lot where I asked people to give me their thoughts on what a PLN (Personal Learning Network) means to them. Tablets- The iPad is wicked cool. Apps are what make the iPad so great. Very easy and lots of potential. And that is key.

I found Woodard when I noticed that she had retweeted me and was following me on Twitter (personal learning networks are about who pays attention to you as well as who you pay attention to). Grace Schaffstall collaborated with elementary school students and their teachers to create and publish a book about the growth of a bird.
