After a semester long pilot program with the senior class during the spring of 2011, we rolled out our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program to the entire student body in September. Throughout the entire 2011-2012 school year, we worked to refine our approach, implementation, and learning outcomes for the program.

Expansion of Mobile Learning Devices: Since I played a prominent role in our current cell phone banning policy isn''t it ironic that I am now the one trying to develop innovative ways to integrate them into instruction? Initially I would like to see some pilot classes begin to use Poll Everywhere to increase student engagement.

He also had students use Poll Everywhere to check for understanding in the beginning of the lesson. Since the “flipped” approach to instruction is proving to be a key asset in modern education, one of Mrs. Chellani’s recent initiatives has been to provide students with a means to learn independently utilizing digital content.
