I hear more often these days about teaching with free online materials instead of traditional textbooks (known as OER). The OER conversation is very energized right now, and it's a complex conversation. I tend to focus on aspects of OER depending on the audience. When Wikipedia was first came out and was first reviewed in 2001.

Since the majority of their lessons and assignments are open educational resources (OER) they wanted to license their Operation Bee curriculum as OER.

Prior to his appointment in July 2001, he held positions at Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Montgomery County Community College. He was one of the first Instructional Design Librarians in the country and was promoted to the rank of Full Librarian in 2013. He also is the founding Director of The Center for Learning + Teaching at Penn State Berks.
