South Carolina has seen its highest number of educator vacancies this year since the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention and Advancement started tracking the trend in 2001. Poor pay, increased public scrutiny, micromanagement and other issues exacerbated by the pandemic have contributed to more vacancies nationwide.
