I asked how open learning works for non-professionals, citing research showing many MOOC users are already professionals and/or academics.

I didn’t have to wonder whether I should used a wiki or a blog or a journal with my students. Take BlackBoard (the name says it all) or any other LMS which simply replicates the structure and format of traditional courses but in an online environment. When I started as an academic life was easy.
