Through 2029, growth in the IT sector is expected to rise 11 percent and add over half a million jobs to the U.S. The job market analytics company Burning Glass reports that nine out of ten tech jobs sit outside the technology sector and that, in the utility sector alone, 35 percent of job openings in 2019 were in IT.
