This past Saturday I attended Edcamp Boston, an "unconference" set in the wonderful Microsoft NERD center overlooking the Charles River in Cambridge. Upon arrival at Edcamp, these are organized into session spaces and times; I popped up a small session: Then, you just GO. Smackdown" sharing session. Smackdown" sharing session.

Student devices are mobile, personal and available where and when students need them. I would advocate for any mobile device solution that put access into every student’s hands. Branching out in to non-tradtional (like edCamps) is better. Desktops don’t qualify as student devices.
