In the mid-2000s, Louisiana implemented high-stakes tests known as Louisiana Educational Assessment Program, or LEAP, which required fourth and eighth graders to show that they were grade-level proficient. Instead, she’s surrounded by friends, including elementary-school classmate Rory Williams, who also will be 20 when he graduates.
