We manually rebuilt each course half a dozen times or more, in Blackboard, Sakai, Canvas, and other systems. For us, this has been classic open source work as characterized by Eric Raymond in The Cathedral and the Bazaar – “Every good work of software starts by scratching a developer’s personal itch.”
