Because we are BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) I have students on PC, Mac, and Chromebook and now I’m able to record screencasts on each of them and easily stitch them together in my web browser. Once the video is complete, I can export it to Screencastify, download the video, or put it on Youtube or even my Google Drive in Google Classroom.

The Logitech Pen works on any USI (Universal Stylus Initiative)-compatible Chromebook which means no pairing required. Most newer Chromebooks are USI-enabled. It turns on automatically when it touches the USI-enabled Chromebook screen, goes to sleep when put down on a table. Don’t look for an on-off switch.

One that really caught my attention: starting with Chrome version 90, the Chrome OS for Chromebooks will now include a built-in screen capture and recording tool called (wait for it) Screen Capture! If you have a Chromebook or an iPad, don’t even worry about this. Or if you still have Evernote but now use OneNote, delete Evernote’s shortcuts and downloads. Most computers come with a built-in firewall to keep viruses and malware out. Sometimes, they seem to turn off by themselves (I have no idea why). Clean out your documents.

However, back in 2006, I discovered an awesome painting application that I downloaded onto my Sony VAIO. I didn’t think about having this type of application on my Chromebook when I first began using them back in 2012. I am a hobby artist and enjoy painting using various media. It was called ArtRage (see examples below).
