On Saturday, November 4, more than 60 educators joined Digital Promise and Maker Ed for Edcamp: Maker Promise , a full day of powerful professional learning through and about making. Edcamp: Maker Promise was hosted by Friends’ Central School in Wynnewood, PA. Each year, there are an estimated 50 Edcamps held all over the world.

EdTechTeam produced professional development experiences in 10 languages for over 88 ,000 educators in 2016. Across all programs, EdTechTeam hired over 200 Google Certified Trainers ( 23 of them full-time employees) to deliver 438 events totalling 4568 hours of professional development in 2016.

Connecting Voices through Robotics: An EdCamp Global Event

Currently, a group of 2nd-5th graders are meeting every Friday for one hour to learn to code these robots and create projects with them. Donna MacDonald (Vermont) and Jenny Lussier (Connecticut) are two wonderful friends who inspire me through my professional learning network, and they also have these robots on loan.

I started coming up with excuses not to go but seeing how I’d missed the last few edCampSFBays, I set the alarm, woke up early on Saturday and headed out for an edCamp, SFBay style.
