Expanding Educational Formats for Students Can Lead to Better Experiences

As I prepared for the 2021-2022 school year, I kept hearing from educators across the nation that we must get our kids back to in-person learning. For some districts, “back to normal” meant in-person only learning was the best and only option for all students. However, as the superintendent of a 10,000-student school district in Joliet, Ill., I want my district to focus on the future rather than look back to the “normal” past.
