In March of 2009, I began to use Twitter, and it was at this time that I began to create a Personal Learning Network (PLN). Through the use of social media, I realized that I didn’t really need to be “developed.” With a PLN, I was able to learn anytime, anywhere, from anyone I wanted for free.

After all is said and done, in regard to building a Personal Learning Network, who one follows is much more important than who follows back. The ideal way to follow someone back is to first examine his or her Twitter Profile, which has public access. There is important information beyond the person’s name and location.
