For the better part of my educational career, I always referred to any type of learning to assist me as a teacher or administrator as professional development (PD). It was always referred to like this, so who was I to argue. I think the same can be said when it comes to the learners we serve.

The overall goal is to move to a more personalized approach that focuses on student agency through path, pace, place, voice, and choice. If technology resources are available, then the best comprehensive strategy to pursue is real blended learning. However, the pedagogical tenets remain the same.

I’ve been published in Leading and Learning with Technology , and I’m currently co-authoring a book on how teachers can develop a personal learning network using social media and other digital tools. I’ve presented at various conferences such as ATE , CUE and ISTE.
