Google Document URL Tricks

Preview links are good for newsletters, flyers, and instructional materials. I have tried linking to a Preview URL for a document in Google Classroom without success. Classroom insists on opening the Edit version, not the Preview version. Classroom gives the option to make a copy for each student.
