Session focus: This session will explore TeachMeet, a type of teacher-driven professional learning. It “harnesses the dynamic energy that naturally comes in a gathering of passionate teachers.” You’ll learn about the structure of a TeachMeet, which includes short, to-the-point presentations and allows educators to have fun voicing their ideas in a supportive environment.

Session focus: In this session, you’ll learn about student-driven podcasts and how to start student podcasting right away in your classroom. The presenter will teach you a step-by-step approach that is similar to the writing process. You’ll also learn how student-driven podcasts affect student engagement and creativity.

Designing for deeper, personalized learning

The what, where and who of digital citizenship across K-12 schools

Session focus: This session will use data from the SpeakUp national survey. The presenters will explain who is teaching digital citizenship, what topics are being covered and where instruction is taking place. They’ll also discuss the risks and opportunities online for students, as well as data collection practices and algorithmic bias.
