By comparison, in its technology supported multiple formats, contemporary distance education is much more sophisticated. Blended learning describes a mix of technology supported and face to face learning.

There was only one session that addressed an understanding of Andragogy, also referred to as adult learning, and how components of their program addressed it. This session presented a larger more flexible Internet delivery system. Delivering information electronically without considering adult learners as your students doesn’t work.

One very useful piece of information in the Wired article is the mention of the British Open University and their work around using online learning platforms such as Moodle to support their distance learners. You also need to support them. I want to propose an alternative form of flipped classroom.
