Twenty percent time from Google. Based on the Google 20% time, students take 20% of their time in a class to pursue a personal interest project. Maker Movement. Many schools are creating maker spaces or “ Fab Labs ” so students have a space and place to invent. Or a genius hour. Or passion projects.

So you can put in things like video, and the video can be videos taken from YouTube so the video can actually be created by somebody else. And the one thing that Flipsnack cannot do it … it cannot be worked on simultaneously like Google docs where two students can work on it at once. Mandy: Yeah, right.

I want them to join Google classroom. and I want them to turn their photograph in as an assignment in Google Classroom. Video-Based Instruction (Flipped or In-Flipped Learning) My students receive in-class video instruction because I don’t like to give homework. Edpuzzle lets me turn off skipping.

Students created holiday scenes that they filmed and shared via video using 3D Bear. Explore 3D Bear Now So, for example, if a student goes into Sketchup (formerly Google Sketchup) and you’ve added Sketchup’s STL extension, they can create or import items and then export them. Or you can use Tinkercad or any other 3D modeling software.

You can take baby steps into the Maker Movement. I'm not 100% sold, even after 7 years of talking about the Maker Movement, that it's something that's here to stay and not just a fad. And it’s using video, which seems like it’s a really native platform for them right now. With Book Creator they can include pictures, they can include video, drawings, text. I always think of giving my students that sandbox time so that they can play a little bit with the software. Like FlipGrid video is so much fun.
