Install Slides Timer
Slides Timer is a free Chrome extension. You will need the extension installed in order operate the timers.
Add a Textbox
Create a textbox anywhere on the slide where you want a countdown timer and for it to automatically go to the next slide once the timer expires. There is a very specific formatting of the textbox in order for there to be a countdown timer.
<<01:00-+>> Advances after 1 minute

In between double less than and greater than symbols indicate how long you want a particular slide to appear. Keeping it simple <<2:00>> will add a 2 minute countdown timer to the slide. Nothing will happen after the timer expires.
To auto advance your Google Slides you will need to add a minus to indicate countdown and a plus to indicate go to the next slide. <<2:00-+>> will countdown from 2 minutes and upon expiring auto advance to the next slide.
Presentation Mode
The countdown timer only works when you are in presentation mode. Click “Slideshow” to start. your presentation and this will also start the timer if you have the timer tag on the slide.
You do NOT need to auto advance your Google Slides for each slide. Only on the ones you wish to advance to the next slide. Omit the timer tag altogether or omit the -+ in the timer tag to
Auto Advance Your Google Slides
To get started with this extension, follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Install the extension The first step is to install the ClayCodes Slides Timer Chrome extension. You can do this by visiting the Chrome Web Store and searching for the extension by name. Once you’ve found it, click on the “Add to Chrome” button to install it.
Once you’ve installed the extension, open your Google Slides presentation. You’ll see a new button labeled “Slides Timer” in the top right corner of the screen. Click on this button to open the timer settings.
Step 2: Open Google Slides and set the timer by adding a timer tag of <<1:00-+>> into a textbox. You can set the time for each slide and specify the action you want the timer to take when it reaches zero.
Step 3: Once you’ve set your timer, it’s time to start your presentation. Start the timer by clicking the “Slideshow button” and advance your slides. When the timer reaches zero, it will automatically advance to the next slide.
Step 4: Adjust the timer as needed During your presentation, you may need to adjust the timer to accommodate for unexpected events or to give yourself more time on a particular slide. To do this, simply use the d key to pause timer. e key to reset timer.
