My emotions were quickly put in check as my Personal Learning Network (PLN) came through as it always does. Not only can you set it up to monitor the Web (news, blogs, videos, forums, images), but you can also have it monitor mentions on Facebook and Twitter if you want. Don’t waste any time.

Here are my 8 essential tools: 1) Twitter, because as I recently said in a YouTube video , it is immediate, social and personal. It connects me to my personal learning network (PLN) and is simple to use. 6) My iPhone. It even houses two USB connectors for my iPhone and iPad to charge up.

A Principal's Reflections

On a crisp, sunny Saturday morning in October, approximately 400 passionate educators congregated at New Milford High School for the Tri-State Educational Technology Conference (TSETC). What I did hear though from educator after educator was how phenomenal the conference was. The book marks were also a nice touch.

When I go to each of my devices (2 iPads, an iPhone 6plus, 2 laptops, and a desktop at school) I don''t have to transfer my documents because they are already there once I install Dropbox! I did a very unscientific Twitter poll (click or see below), and I asked my Education Personal Learning Network (PLN) friends if they sleep with their phones and was surprised by the many responses. I keep my iPhone bedside, face down, with Do Not Disturb scheduled from 9pm to 6am, Night Shift activated.
