If you’ve bought a pc in the past year you probably have Windows 8 installed on it and are a bit confused on the interface. The start menus is now in a tile format called metro interface. They added a section called Charms where you have to open up to search, share, show device, and shutdown/restart.

Classroom Integration: With this transition, it’s highly unlikely that your school upgraded to 8 and stayed with Windows 7 or XP (if you are a Windows district). But for us educators who work at home, here are some keyboard shortcuts that can help you with Windows 8.
