The Dynamic Learning Project (DLP) utilizes coaching for classroom teachers to increase impactful use of technology in select schools across the country. In our new video below, educators from San Ysidro Middle School in San Diego share how the DLP benefits both teachers and students in their school.

“Even though our students are digital natives, some of those kids may not have access to as much technology as we think that they do,” said Connie Rodriguez, principal at San Ysidro. “So bringing that different world into our school and helping our kids grow and see that they don’t have to be just consuming technology, they can produce technology—that is powerful.”

“I have this idea, and she really helps me get there,” said Emily Kurtz, a social studies teacher at San Ysidro, about the school’s instructional DLP coach, Jamie Barrett. “She’s going to be there to support me and give me the tools and ideas as to how to get there.”

“It’s amazing, the culture of the school has changed,” Barrett said. “Watching kids want to go to class, want to be in the class—I can’t even put into [words] how much it’s grown and how much dedication these teachers have shown to put in the effort to make it grow.”
