A recent study of more than 2,200 children could upend preconceived notions about video games. While previous studies have found negative associations with gaming, the latest research shows that video games can do some good. Children who played video games for at least 21 hours per week showed “enhanced cognitive performance” compared with those who did not, according to research funded by the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
