edCamp Every Day #edCampSV #edCamp

There is no box

To sum that one up; more Pedagogy, less Cool Tools. Upon returning home, I got to thinking, we should aspire to have edCamps happening on school campuses every day. So, have an edCamp every day on your campus. It’s a powerful model for collaboration and learning and sometimes it’s refreshing to take a break from the tech tool overload, slow down, sit down and just talk. Commentary edcamp

How Teachers Can Learn From One Another at Unconferences, Meet-ups and Edcamps

For larger, more efficient unconferences, the Edcamp Foundation has a site full of resources and ideas for anybody who wants to organize their own “Edcamp,” which is simply a well-articulated version of an education unconference.

From unCon to edCamp for #CUE16?

That was a big win for me personally because the CUE annual conference can sometimes feel overwhelming with all the tech tools. Attendance at the UnCon wasn’t great but every edcamp (another uncon) I’ve ever attended started small and built over time.

#EdcampHOME is Where the Heart is. for Learning

Baker's B.Y.O.D.

I remember attending my first Edcamp in November and being awed by the session board: its masking taped grid on a cement block school wall and the giant post it notes used for session creation; the organizers on laptops furiously copying the schedule to a Google spreadsheet.

Poor teachers: Who is to blame?

The Unconference or the Edcamp Model is completely different. The attendees decide upon the entire Edcamp schedule of sessions on the morning of the conference. Gathering up all of the staff and forcing them all into sessions in order to check off a box stating that PD was delivered is no way to professionally develop a staff with knowledge, tools, or a mindset that is relevant to their needs.
