  1. Hello I am a teacher and I fully support using technology in the classroom to support our learners. There are many benefits that come from instructional resources and gives students an opportunity to leave k-12 schools with basic knowledge of computer skills for the workforce or continuing education. However, I would like to know your thoughts on how technology can be addictive in the primary grade classrooms, or any grade level. For example, I know a first grader that cannot transition off of iReady without big outbursts. This occurs both inside and outside of school. This student works even on the weekends and has a ton of minutes recorded by Saturday. Tech is a problem at home for this child as well. He is often angered when games don’t go his way. I feel that he struggles deciphering learning games or educational resources verses games he plays at home for fun. What do we do for students that struggle with transitioning off of technology? This child does not cooperate, and his anger outbursts are alarming. I have not had this problem in my classroom, but I’m sure there are teachers that have experienced this type of problem.
