The Edcamp model of instruction for professional development seems to fit the bill for the needs of both educators and parents. I guess for parents we might refer to PD as Parental Development. All Edcamp topic sessions are based on conversation and not lecture. Individually we may be smart, but collectively we are even smarter.

In addition, there were more sessions this year focused around topics like integrating technology, digital citizenship, mobile learners, technology and critical thinking and others. Another bright spot was the increased number of sessions referring to project or problem-based learning. Student-Centered, Project Based Learning.

He had QR codes for all of us to use as takeaways so that I could reference everything later, and boy did I! I designed a Digital Citizenship course ( #digcit ) that requires me to stay technologically relevant and to lean on my Professional Learning Network for assistance. Since this change, I have… attended #edcamps.
