For those who don''t know, Edcamp is a great series of free, unconferences for educators. The Edcamp model is unique in that attendees set the agenda the morning of the conference and the sessions are not led by one person, but are rather a collaboration of both the facilitator and attendees. I highly recommend Edcamps!

Lisa has been using Edmodo for 2.5 In addition to creating Animoto videos, Lisa is active on Twitter (@SrtaLisa), writes about educational technology topics on her blog , and enjoys attending educational conferences. Lisa and I were lucky to connect during EdCamp Philly this past Spring!

We've been having a discussion in the newly formed #Flipcon15 Continued Voxer group about how to get new attendees more comfortable and connected at the conference. Attending large conferences is an overwhelming experience: so many sessions, so many people, so many places! I am motivated to attend conferences because of the PEOPLE.

For those who don''t know, Educon is an educational conference that us put on by the students and staff of the Science Leadership Academy , lead by Chris Lehmann. It is a different kind of conference. One of the questions I kept asking myself was what makes everyone say Educon is the conference to go to? in Philadelphia.

Going to a conference is like attending a family reunion. To cement your bond, attend a local conference together or an Edcamp. There are many websites that bring teachers together, like Graphite, Google+ Groups, Edmodo Communities, and more. There is value to both local and global teacher connections.

I trained every teacher in our district at some point and even conducted outside trainings and conferences. I found twitter, Edcamp and connected to teachers. I searched for twitter feeds, blogs, facebook, youtube, pinterest, edmodo and even school websites. And then…everything changed… 1.
