S'Cool Tools of the Week: Refugee Libraries Toolkit, 21Teach

This week in S’Cool Tools, we've got two tools for you, chosen by the EdSurge team. If you’d like to be featured in our S’Cool Tools column, click here to leave your very own Teacher Case Study.

Refugee Libraries Toolkit

Free! Refugee Libraries Toolkit: The Refugee Libraries website self-describes itself as “an attempt to reach across the library community to provide resources to better serve refugee populations.” But the site’s collection of reading lists, guides for doing policy outreach, and refugee camp case studies are useful for any high schooler or social studies teachers looking to bring messages of tolerance into the classroom. Sponsored by Urban Librarians Unite, all of the resources are completely free.

21Teach

Freemium! 21Teach: 21Teach is a directory app of STEM Open Educational Resources —games, apps, videos, and ebooks—that align to the Common Core State Standards and run on mobile devices. The app allows for K-12 teachers, students, and parents to find, bookmark, and rate mobile resources. 21Teach is a free app, but some of the content it links to is paid and requires purchase before a user can access it.
