Educators now have to attend mandate-driven workshops on the Common Core, teacher/principal evaluation, and student growth objectives. Now, I am not saying that these things are not important, but it is hard as a professional to develop a love for learning when one has to succumb to daylong trainings with absolutely no authenticity.

This makes it extremely important for teachers to expand their knowledge of digital resources aligned to Common Core. True integration involves an active learning experience where students are creating, and are able to make a personal connection with the content. Nebraskans also value local control, and elected not to adapt the Common Core standards.
