According to a recent Pew survey , just 61 percent of those surveyed thought K–12 schools were properly teaching reading, writing and math, and only 25 percent thought schools were giving STEM classes enough time in the classroom.

This is what we currently have in our lab now that we are 3 years into the program: Wonder Workshop Dash and Dot Robots. These are our "go to" robotics for elementary students. Wonder Workshop Cue Robots. These robots even allow students to toggle between block coding a javascript. Sphero Robots. 5 Lenovo Laptops.

I think 2017 is going to be an exciting year, there’s going to be a lot more cloud based technology than there was before and when classes and content are delivered in the cloud and via browsers, it means kids can access the same experience and content at home as they can in the classroom. Another example of this is smartphones.

The program includes in-classroom professional development sessions. Furthermore, ABCMouse will be offered at no cost to teachers for use in their classrooms, allowing them to take full advantage of many of these offerings. Videos provide stopping points to facilitate classroom discussion and encourage critical thinking.

Diversity stands for acknowledging that there is a range of differences in the classroom. We started looking more closely at how our students were using tech in the classroom. We also are 1:1 with our devices–our students do take their HP or Lenovo laptops home. And I don’t think we’re there yet.
