We’re proud to announce the new partnership between eSpark and NWEA, which will help teachers deliver differentiated reading and math instruction to their students and precisely target learning gaps to improve student achievement.

NWEA’s MAP Growth Assessments support students and educators worldwide through assessment solutions that provide key data insights to help tailor instruction. Through eSpark’s partnership with NWEA, schools and districts can easily differentiate in reading and math based on their MAP assessment data. Students no longer need to take additional placement tests to determine areas of need – eSpark and NWEA work hand-in-hand to place students exactly where they need to be.

“Our team at eSpark is honored to partner with NWEA and further empower teachers through adaptive, data-driven instruction,” said David Vinca, eSpark’s CEO and Founder. “It has always been our mission to help educators personalize learning and improve student outcomes in a meaningful way, and NWEA’s MAP Growth data allows us to do that quickly and accurately.”

eSpark diagnoses individual learning levels based on each student’s MAP Growth results, and uses the RIT scores provided by NWEA to select the perfect standard-aligned Quest for that student to begin working on. eSpark then adapts as the student learns and progresses, so they remain challenged and engaged with new skills at their own level and pace.

Teachers can also use eSpark to assign Mini-Lessons that correspond to a specific skill. These lessons can be assigned to the entire class to introduce a new concept or review older material. Mini-Lessons can also be assigned to individual students for targeted instruction and skill practice to close learning gaps and increase student growth.

Once students begin learning in eSpark, their teachers are able to monitor their activity and progress from the eSpark Teacher Dashboard. These reporting tools allow teachers to track student data with ease and keep tabs on student growth throughout the year. Reports can be sorted by standard mastery, so teachers know exactly where each of their students need the most support.

Overall Growth on NWEA MAP

A recent quantitative research study performed in Pennsylvania demonstrated a clear increase in MAP Growth overall RIT scores and percentiles in classrooms that used eSpark, compared to those that did not. In Math, students who used eSpark in the classroom almost doubled their growth compared to those who did not. In Reading, students who used eSpark in class showed a 4.2% higher growth percentage than students who did not.
